I have heard so many things about Coven, I've been wanting to try it for so long... I've heard it is THE forest scent, or that it's THE witch scent. However, months ago when I first got my hands on a sample of it, at the time I felt like it fell short. I have no idea what the hell my expectations were at the time, but initially I was left slightly disappointed.
Time went by. Days, then weeks. I kept coming back to the sample that I owned. It had this enchanting, bewitching, enthralling quality to it. It called to me from the darkness of the drawer. I guess it just took a while to work its magic on me. I have now finally seen the dark, I have joined the Coven.
The oakmoss note in Coven is unlike any other (and I love oakmoss, I would know) - it is dark, witchy, and very much "haunted forest"-esque. Whiskey and labdanum round it all up to hold your attention captive, they make Coven hard to forget.
In terms of sillage and longevity, it is very powerful, likely the most long lasting perfume from Andrea Maack (I have tried a few).
I now own a full bottle and I consider this to be one of the best fragrances of all time. A bold claim, but I stand by it. Believe me, I have tested over 1600 different perfumes (for real), I do not say statements like this lightly. Just give Coven time when you first encounter it, you cannot rush it.

Top Notch scent.
Woodsy/Vanilla/Cedar notes similar to Guerlain Paris back in the early ‘80s when it was not so overpowering.
The fragrance linger is amazing.
Once you try Andrea Maack you are hooked.
I won’t wear anything else.

smells like spells under the full moon, a witch’s layer in an enchanted forest, pine needles under foot, a burning bonfire, spicy cloves, a snake wrapped around your neck. if you’re looking for an earthy fragrance for fall, this is it!

I absolutely fell in love with Coven while visiting Iceland!
Such an amazing scent and different from anything else around.
I feel like I am walking down a tranquil forest path when wearing it, I can’t stop spraying all day long!
It takes me back to my magical Iceland adventures this Summer! Obsessed :)

When I was in Iceland, I had the opportunity to smell Coven and I could not imagine leaving without it.
Coven opens with a dark papery green galbanum and wet moss-adorned with woody spice with a subtle thread of dark vanilla and a breath of fine peaty whiskey and sweetly resinous labdanum at the tail end of the inhalation. As it dries, the scent develops a lovely round woody vanilla tone with balsamic whiskey notes swept with beautifully sharp green galbanum that feel warmed by sweet labdanum and a faint exhalation of clove. Even after 6 hours of wear, the deep, shadowy green mossy galbanum and cedar dance around vanilla-warmed whiskey darkened with labdanum and the barest whisper of spice. It is a darkly earthy blend that speaks of deep forests, the fae, and untamed wilds - It's spellbinding.
